Jaclyn Grant, RMT

“I have always been fascinated by the study and intelligence of the human body and different forms of movement. My experience with massage therapy began from a young age, receiving treatments as a teenager, then later seeking it out for recovery from working many physical jobs. I was always blown away at how effective these treatments were; not only providing relief from physical pain and limitations but also offering a space for deeper transformation on a holistic level. Suffice to say, these experiences had a profound impact on me, and it quickly became clear that I had to pursue this work. Working with people has always been my greatest passion, and it is a joy to be able to give back and help others through a lens that has helped me for so many years.

My treatment approach is not only informed by my formal education, but largely by my lived study of the body through Dance, Yoga Training and Somatic Experiencing work. I feel that the more integrated our experience is of our own body in relation to the world, (which is constantly changing) the more present we can be, and the greater our capacity is to hold that space for others.

When working together, my treatment takes into account your health history, daily activities, postural patterns, your focus areas for treatment and overall goals for general wellbeing. I am passionate about providing my clients’ with informed and inclusive care. I am committed to supporting you where you are, with the understanding that healing is nuanced, and every body has its own unique needs and timeline. This motivates me to cultivate a practice that is guided by my in-depth knowledge and understanding of anatomy & physiology, met with an ongoing inquiry and trust in your bodies’ unique wisdom.

My go-to techniques in treatment include: Myo-fascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, General Swedish Massage, Joint mobilization, Craniosacral Techniques, Passive and sometimes Active-Release movement. I will always adjust pressure and techniques as needed, to ensure we are working collaboratively for your optimal benefit.

I believe that the release of tension and restoration of equilibrium is achieved first and foremost through your willingness, trust and intention. I am passionate about encouraging you to be an active participant in your healing, and endeavor to do this by providing a safe and accepting environment for you and your nervous system to unwind. My intention is always for you to walk away from your treatment, feeling a greater sense of capacity and relief from everyday pain and stress, and to feel more like yourself.

I graduated as a Registered Massage Therapist from the Kootenay Columbia College of Integrative Health and Sciences in Nelson, in 2023. Before completing the RMT program, I was practicing as a Certified Thai Massage Therapist & Bodyworker since 2017. I have been delighting in the study of the healing arts now for nearly two decades.
