I have had the pleasure of working with the Atlas team since qualifying as a Registered Massage Therapist in 2013 and am so grateful to be able to welcome you to this comforting and calming space for treatment. I love my work.
I have always found the study of the human body fascinating and feel passionately that every body deserves care and to be treated with dignity, respect in an informed way. This drives me to cultivate a practice that uses the wisdom, knowledge and understanding of medical scientific evidence while acknowledging each person’s unique experience of the world and their body.
My treatment approach takes into account your lived experiences, health history, activities of daily living, your goals and focus for treatment as well as your wants for your general wellbeing.
I endeavor to provide you with confident and focused pressure, clear communication and use modalities such as General Swedish Massage, Roods techniques, MET (Muscle Energy Technique), and Myofascial Release in effort to augment your massage techniques.
My education and work experience focus has been aimed at providing care for folks who require an understanding of:
- Chronic pain conditions
- Chronic Stress
- TMJ
- Post-operative scar tissue
- Body diversity
- Trauma related conditions
- Trans and Gender-diversity
- Pre and postnatal care
- Infant care
- Supportive therapeutic modalities for children and adults with Physical and developmental disabilities
- Joint replacement
- Depression and anxiety
- Neurodiversity
- Musical and visual artists
Working with people has always been my greatest passion and I continue to delight in furthering my education and understanding of how our bodies deal with the physical, mental and societal stresses of the lives we lead.
On my adult education journey, I pursued the study of Classical Voice, Vocal Jazz and
Visual Arts and then completed the 3000hr RMT program at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy (WCCMT), Victoria in 2013. I have furthered my education to include courses in Trauma Informed Treatment, MET treatment of TMJ, Evidence Based Pain Management to name few.
I have worked in health care for many years now, beginning with supporting folks with physical and developmental disabilities and neurodivergence.
Childcare, retail, hospitality and food service have also provided me with experience of the different ways our bodies facilitate our wants, needs and livelihoods as well as how they function under stress.
Massage Therapy presents the unique opportunity to impart safe, positive touch through education, awareness and therapeutic modalities.
It is my intent to provide safe, informed treatments to help you on this wild ride of living in a human body and to support your goals of well-being and equilibrium.
I very much look forward to working with you!
